Our Impact

At EDGE, we get to create opportunities for incredible stories to unfold in the lives of our mentors and mentees. These are the stories we were honored to share this year.

To me, EDGE is about the relationships.
— Chris Moorman, mentee

EDGE Mentoring is a community you can rely on to walk with you in life.
— Luz Flores, mentee

I just can’t say enough about the experience. I learn every time I’m on an EDGE call.
— Jim Zaloudek, mentor

Our Community

We believe in the power of bringing people together. That’s why we work to provide our mentors, mentees and local leaders with the chance to engage with each other and with Indiana’s most influential leaders – all year round. This year, we hosted 10 events to connect the EDGE community!

Burst Event: How to Build a City

Our April Burst Event at the Heslar Naval Armory sold out at nearly 300 attendees! We welcomed four Indianapolis leaders to discuss the importance of building a culturally rich city.

We also welcomed a special guest – Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett!
Check out the recap (with the full video) below.

Connect Breakfasts

In May, we hosted 100 Indianapolis business leaders to share the EDGE mission and vision. We also welcomed Derrick Feldmann, president of Achieve and author of Social Movements for Good, as our keynote speaker.

In September, we partnered with the Trinity Forum to host a connect breakfast featuring world renowned artist Makoto Fujimura, who spoke about the importance of culture care – based on his recently published book.

Women’s Events

An Evening at the Cake Bake Shop

Our 2017 EDGE Women’s Events kicked off with an inspiring evening at Indianapolis’ famous Cake Bake Shop, hearing from owner and entrepreneur Gwendolyn Rogers!

Ambre Blends CEO, Ambre Crockett, and Director of Sales, Stephanie Harris, shared their entrepreneurial journey with 40 women at Dottie Couture Boutique.

A group of 30 women enjoyed an intimate evening of coffee and conversation with the New York Times best selling author – who was also one of our EDGE|X 2017 speakers!

Holiday Mingle

We kicked off the holiday season with coffee, giveaways and shopping from local female entrepreneurs at The Well Coffeehouse in Fishers, Indiana.

Mentor Meetup

In August, we hosted a Mentor Meetup featuring these three Indianapolis organizations who share our passion for mentoring, including Starfish Initiative, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana, Elevate Indianapolis.

We welcomed a group of 50 EDGE mentors and community leaders at Broad Ripple’s Gallery Pastry Shop to connect and learn more about these local mentoring initiatives.

EDGE Social Meetups

2017 is the year we kicked off Social Meetups. These fun, pop-up style gatherings give mentors and mentees the opportunity to enjoy a drink and some appetizers after work while hanging out with fellow EDGE members.

Our venues of choice have been local breweries around Indianapolis, including Metazoa Brewing Company and Centerpoint Brewing.

2017 has been a great year. 2018 could be even better.

If you’ve been impacted or inspired by the work we’re doing here at EDGE, would you consider giving a one-time or recurring donation this holiday season? Your gift allows us to continue our mission to equip the next generation of servant leaders.
